As the senior leader since its inception, Dave has been the driving force behind the company's every initiative. By developing new technology, focusing on customer support and training and putting key employees in positions to do extraordinary things, Dave has guided Supportworks to exceptional growth, leading Inc. Magazine to recognize it as one of America's fastest-growing private companies.
Dave grew up in the foundation business and began working on an installation crew for his father's foundation repair company at age 14. He has installed hundreds of foundation repair systems with his own hands, which gives him a unique understanding of foundation problems and their solutions, the contracting industry and what is required to lead a company from every level. Dave earned a Bachelor's degree in business communications and marketing from Concordia University, where he was honored as Most Outstanding Student of the Year. Before founding Supportworks, Dave held marketing and sales positions at two Fortune 1000 companies in the transportation and infrastructure industries, gaining valuable corporate and client management skills. In 2010, he co-authored the book Foundation Repair Science, which has sold nearly a half-million copies. In 2013, Dave received the 40 Under 40 Award from the Midlands Business Journal in recognition of his vision and leadership.
Dave's philosophy has always been that for Supportworks to grow, the company's senior leaders need to be aligned. One of the key ways he created a culture of alignment was by establishing the company's "purpose." Finding that purpose has provided direction and accountability to company initiatives and has been a touchstone to use in protecting the company culture. This concept of purpose and its role in creating a positive company culture has been recognized nationally. In addition to speaking about the concept with national publications such as Forbes Magazine and The Huffington Post, Dave's story was told in the best-selling book Leading with Noble Purpose by Lisa Earle McLeod.
Purpose outside of work: Dave is a devoted husband and father of three young children. He loves spending time with the family and participating in various sports, including softball and golf. He loves to fish and hunt and is an active member of his church, where he volunteers and serves as a leader in several areas of ministry.
